Team Silverman was in Boston for trick or treating around Beacon Hill. Hard to imagine a more beautiful setting or a better evening (70 degrees with a blue moon). Scary little monsters were everywhere.
Gabrielle, mom, and daddy were piggies. Schnitzelle was a very convincing “big” bad wolf.
With a 7 day beard, Daddy was confused most often for “swine flu”. As a family we scored first prize for coordinated team effort.

Gabrielle finished the evening of Trick or Treating off, with a nice bath . . . in all her spoils!

Candy bath!
Mom: Gabrielle it’s Thursday, you get to make Challah today at school!
Gabrielle: Are you ready to make a berachah everyone?
Gabrielle and I were make believe eating this morning, pretending her play-doh was corn, apple and then bread.
All of a sudden, she announces: “Baruch ata adonai elohenu”!
I don’t know who was more surprised me or the baby mamma! I guess she is learning something in school afterall!
I’m all grown up these days. Sometimes my parents think I’m two going on twelve.
- In the morning I demand “Dora the Explorer” and “Milky”
- On our regular morning family walk I usually get a bagel with egg and cheese
- And then serve as spotter while sister hunts squirrels
- I most like to hang out with my friends Shubnum, Myles, Jackson and Sophia
- My newest most favorite game is locking my parents out of whichever room I’m in
- I never miss a chance to hug sister Schnitzelle and love to inspect her teeth
- When I’m not reading books on my own, I demand my parents read them again and again
- I have read Pinkolicious (I call it Pink Delicious) several hundred times in the last month
- And of course my favorite color is Pink
- If they made Mac and Cheese in pink, I would pretty much eat it exclusively
- I’m hoping my parents get me a “Lamborghini” when I turn 16, but I’m also a decent fan of “BMW”, “Mercedes Benz”, “Ferrari”, and “Porsche”. . . and yes I can identify them all!
- I think daddy is a great jungle gym with a full service swing – no high is too high
- I think Uncle Uri is a playmate at my complete disposal
- Sister is a “gorgeous midget hound”
And, I absolutely can’t wait to be an older sister!
Baby Silverman 2.0 is on the way!
Gabrielle is going to have (another) sibling. Sister Schnitzelle and Gabrielle will welcome the next bundle of joy and diapers home in early April!
So today was Gabrielle’s 2nd day at pre-preschool. The first day was Tuesday and that day started, included, and ended with plenty of tears. Mom never left the room. Daddy and Schnitzelle walked home alone.
In fact the anxiety of that day carried over into anxiety for the last couple days. “Mommy you’re going to stay right? Can daddy stay? Can sister?”
Day 2, however, was a sweet success!
Gabrielle said goodbye to Mommy and then was on her way, showing off a photograph of sister Schnitzelle to her classmates.
After school, she went running into her mommy’s arm and exclaimed: “Mommy I did it, I went to preschool!”
Yes – she certainly did and so her reward for success was equally sweet!

Don’t even think about taking this scrumptious treat away from me. . .
P.S. Good news. . . Evidently I’m not allergic!
Gabrielle: “That’s my sister. She’s doesn’t feel good”
Stranger on elevator: “Oh that’s your little sister”
Gabrielle: “Yes, she needs medicine. She did poopie and we had to clean it up. We’ll take her outside and she’ll feel better.”
Said between floors 26 and 12, as we descended to the lobby for our morning walk, at 2 years and 10 days old.

P.S. For the record, Schnitzelle did not poop on the carpet and she’s had an upset tummy for 2 days.
Gabrielle was playing around and kicking mom’s head.
Gabrielle: Can I sleep on your head?
Mom: No. No means no.
Gabrielle: Yes means yes mom.
Mommy went ALL out this year.
We had the most fantastic Abby-Cadabby themed birthday party – dancing the early afternoon away!
For Photos Galore!
