Dad: “Gabrielle, how do you spell cat?”
Gabrielle: “On daddy’s computer, at home, in the media room”
Said on 6/29/2009 at 23 months and a day old
(N.B. She is referring to when we google image search on “cat”, “dog”, “baby” and “tiger”. The literal answer is a correct one!)
I’m almost 2! And, wanted to share an updated list of my firsts and favorites. I’ve grown a bit bossy in my old age. But – I usually follow-up my orders with a please and thank-you.
- Favorite food: Mac and cheese – although I never pass up a good french fry
- Favorite desert: Birthday cake and / or cupcake, with sprinkles. Really any kind of cake is good. Vanilla and chocolate ice cream also good. Oh – and I like yogurt covered raisins. Did I mention Jelly Beans yet? Love them too.
- Favorite show: PBS’s Super Why!
- Favorite character: Elmo – still has a lock on the top spot – though his hold is slipping in favor of Abby-Cadabby.
- Favorite sport: Soccer
- Last hold-out baby word: Elemator (i.e., elevator)
- First compound sentence: “I want to get milk and go sit-up [in bed]“
- Biggest number to date: “I pushed forty-five!”
- Sneakiest (and smartest) move to date: Grabbed mom’s purse from the front hall when she wasn’t looking, took out all the change and promptly deposited it in my piggy-bank!
- Favorite question: “What happened?”
- Favorite expression: “Just for a few minutes!”
- Best friends: Ana and Gillybean (cousins Arianna and Gillian) – I ask for them almost every day
Any out-of-town friends wanting to join me for my birthday party on July 26th – just let me know!
Looking very comfortable on the field, Gabrielle started soccer this summer in “Lil’ Kickers”.

And, then enjoyed (most of) mommy’s b-day cake to celebrate!

Team Silverman traveled to Beverly Hills last weekend to visit Yael’s very pregnant BFF Rachel Rogers (nee Saunders).
Much to mom’s delight (and dad’s rational un-exhuberance), Gabrielle continued to develop her burgeoning shoe fetish.

I encouraged Gabrielle not to be too critical of others, until she’d walked a mile in their shoes . . .

I guess I should brace myself.
