Mom: What letter is this?
Gabrielle: I don’t know
Followed by uncontrolled giggling
. . . .
Mom: What’s daddy’s favorite color?
Gabrielle: Stinky
Followed by uncontrolled giggling
Evidently she has her father’s sense of humor and her mother’s sense of smell
My list of favorites has gotten pretty long, so please be patient:
- Favorite bedtime activity: Alphabet song “ABC again ABC again” (i.e., mommy – then daddy – rubs my tummy and sings the alphabet song until everyone falls asleep!)
- Favorite exercise: Riding my “bicycle!” (aka my tri-cycle)
- Best friend: “Sista-poo” (aka sister Schnitzelle – my parents have no idea where this came from)
- Favorite nickname for sista-poo: “Midgette” or “Midgette hound” (if daddy and mommy can call her that, so can I!)
- Mommy’s favorite name for Gabrielle: “Baby-elle”
- Gabrielle’s favorite name for mommy: “Mommy-elle”
- Favorite name for daddy: “Daddy-o” (again, my parents have no idea where this came from)
- Best observation: What kind of dog is sista? “a barking dog” (I think my parents expected me to say “dachshund” but I know better)
- Favorite desert: “Ice cream with chocolate ants” (aka chocolate sprinkles – yes she came up with this on her own)
- Favorite food: See desert entry (though chocolate and milk are tied for second place)
- Favorite color: Pink like every good girl, though pretty fond of white, orange, blue, green and red (yes – I can identify them all and more!)
- Favorite playground activity: Swings and slides (a very close tie)
- Favorite DVDs: Elmo and Barney (a very close tie again, though Elmo may still have the edge)
- Favorite language for counting: I can count to 20 in English, but only to 10 in Spanish
- Favorite game: “I got your nose”
- Favorite song: Still – without a doubt – the “Hello song”
- Favorite grown-up song: Beyonce’s “All the single ladies” (you should see me dance to it)
Gabrielle and crew took the fantastico direct flight from Miami to Vail last week, to enjoy a few days in the mountains.
Mommy hadn’t been on the slopes in 12 years. No fear though. She was racing daddy down a black diamond 1 hour later.
Baby elle attended her first nursery classes without the companionship of mommy. Evidently, mommy felt the pain of separation more than Gabrielle did (guess who cried and guess who didn’t). Much to our delight (and disappointment), Gabrielle woke up EVERY morning begging for “baby class”!

So, yesterday afternoon, mommy suggests to Gabrielle that we go to the playground. Gabrielle runs to the front door of the apartment and exclaims “Come on family”.
She then proceeds to open the door (turning the handle and pulling it towards her!) and walks into the hallway.
Gulp.
