She’s got ears and legs . . . and they both work!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Howard Scott Silverman @ 1:29 pm

So, the other day as I went off to work, I offered my regular round of goodbyes to every member of the family.  First daddy kissed Schnitzelle (who as usual was unconscious long after everyone else was awake), then I kissed Yael (I’m allowed to now, cause we’re married) and then I put my ear to her tummy and said “Good morning Babie Silverman”.

Well, evidently she was listening!

BS preceded to give one big kick to Yael and, transitively, my ear!  Just about knocking both of us over, mostly in surprise of course.

I can see where this is going. . . I’m already taking abuse and she’s not even ex utero!

. . . .

Outnumbered

Well, in the beginning it was just me and The Princess.

Then we brought Schnitzelle in to our lives, and I was outnumbered. The girls would go shopping and leave daddy behind or worse yet, drag him along to help pick out clothes.

Alas, I can now officially (and proudly!) declare, there’s no end in sight for my silent suffering.

Today’s ultrasound secured my fate, I’ll be dragged to the mall for the rest of my life!

You read it here first.  Baby Silverman is now, officially Babie Silverman cause we’re having a GIRL!!

Coming [out] in July!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Howard Scott Silverman @ 8:25 pm

The anticipation of BS’s coming out party has us cleaning and cramming these days.

At this point, we’re a little intimidated by it all.  Today’s visit to Babies-R-Us ended prematurely:  I was just too overwhelmed to continue through the THREE page list of things we’ve been told we MUST have!

We’ve also signed up for just the courses essential for ‘Prepared Parents’.  At last count, we’ve been convinced to pay for SEVEN of them!  Oh, what we will do to be perfect parents for the perfect child:

  • Required tour of the Brigham-Women’s hospital
  • Child Birth class
  • CPR class
  • Breast feeding class (for Yael, of course)
  • Newborn Essentials class
  • Interview with our pediatrician
  • And, we’re on the waiting list for ‘Barks and Babies’

Boy is this stuff fun!
