Watching Water Boil . . .

Filed under: Uncategorized — Howard Scott Silverman @ 10:41 pm

I’m guessing I’m not the first father to notice the somewhat anti-climactic 2nd trimester.  The excitement of sharing “we’re expecting” wanes and future expectation is tempered by the frustrating reality of measured time.  Oh yes, and there’s lots of it.  Yael isn’t due for a good 180 days!  That leaves us time to go around the world at least twice!

It’s not the same for Yael, with her continuous experience of the pleasure and inconvenience of pregnancy.  Much to her delight, she thinks she noticed the baby move a couple times yesterday.  To be candid, I suspect it was more likely gas. . . but don’t tell her!

Superbowl shuffle

Filed under: Uncategorized — Howard Scott Silverman @ 1:06 am

Well, it’s finally winter in New England and everyone is feeling the effects.

Mommy got dehydrated, Schnitzelle got dry skin (now she is on fish oil pills, like her dad) and Daddy got a sore throat.  Oh and BS got crampy.

More importantly, BS is officially the first baby to complete the superbowl shuffle in utero!  Go Bears!  Go Pats!

Gonna be a handful!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Howard Scott Silverman @ 2:42 am

Would you like a “lime” with those coconuts?!  Baby Silverman (BS) now weighs a whopping half an ounce and stands some two inches tall!

I’m proud to declare that BS has inherited the temperament of his/her father and I have proof!  During the last ultrasound, despite considerable effort by the docs, BS kept flipping over to avoid the camera.  He/she is gonna be a handful!

Starting to show! (and eating for two . . . or so)

Filed under: Uncategorized — Howard Scott Silverman @ 2:39 pm

Well, I’m outnumbered.

  • Yael is starting to show and craving carbs something serious (she can really put it down good these days).
  • Schnitzelle has morning sickness (last several mornings – seriously, she’s puking).

Yael is thinking about joining a competitive eating team.  I’m just worried I won’t be able to afford the next 6 months!  Costco here we come!

Sympathetic pregnancy – It’s not so bad afterall!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Howard Scott Silverman @ 10:30 pm

Well I’ve heard of male sympathy pregnancy (couvade syndrome) but this is a little ridiculous (no this photo wasn’t staged – it’s cold in Boston and Schnitzelle likes to snuggle).
